In the early years

After returning from the 2nd world war Horace Gardham joined A.D Letch as a decorator. Horace was already an experienced decorator whose perfectionist attitude meant that all the work he carried out was to the highest quality. It is this attitude that Horace passed on to his sons, which has and continues to pay great dividends.

In the early years the firm worked on many Manor houses and mansions including the White Lodge, Hempstead Hall, Abbots Hall, Tinden Manor and Gedding Hall, which to this day is owned by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones.

Late in the 1960s the partnership took on a contract to maintain the Ridleys Brewers estate, which included a large bottling plant and many public houses. The sustained high standard of work has ensured that the business still maintains the Ridleys estate to this day.

The partnership continued to trade successfully throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The firm continued to develop and take on new challenges including interior work for local council offices and a local technology centre.

In the late 1990s the partners developed their skill further and started works for an office refurbishment Company based in London.

A new century, a new name.

As the firm progressed into the new century it continued to see much growth and development. This was reflected in the increased demand for its services. Today, the directors continue to serve new customers as well as their maintained, loyal customers.

Gardhams continues to offer a traditional service, ensuring that high quality and professionalism are delivered as standard.
